With a new commentary of over 12,000 words, Ronnie Wood shares memories from the Birds, the Jeff Beck Group, the Faces, the Rolling Stones, and discusses musical peers and influences.
Ronnie shares a series of original artworks inspired by the content of his diary. Friends and musicians such as The Who are featured as are early musical influences such as Howlin Wolf.
Others bring to life memories of everyday life: loading a van with his bandmates or pushing a stalled car home. Drawings of the guitars and amps Wood used embellish his words – with anecdotes often personally reproduced in Wood’s own calligraphy.
How Can It Be? includes rare and unseen photographs taken by Ronnie Wood’s friends, family and bandmates. Colour and black and white shots bring his stories to life, depicting ‘strange photocalls’, road trips and plenty of high-energy performances. Archival images also illustrate events in the diary, from seeing the Stones on TV to filming alongside Marianne Faithfull.
Bound in full leather with gilt tooling and page edging and housed in a slipcase. Also included is a facsimile fold-out poster, facsimile nightclub tickets and photographs; an exclusive 7″ vinyl featuring two versions of “How Can It Be?” from 1965 and the present day.
The book was previously owned by radio and television presenter, Annie Nightingale. This review copy is numbered ‘XVI’ and is hand signed by Ronnie Wood.
