Cat has added the inscription ‘To Jason with peace and eternal hope’ above his name. It comes with a letter from the original recipient that reads:
‘Cat Stevens, like myself is half Greek. In Sept 2008 I became perilously ill with an extreme form of the autoimmune disease Lupus. He was told this by Mr Alan Edwards the CEO and chairman of his PR agency “The Outside Organisation”. In his home in London he immediately signed these words – very moving and touching words – and Mr Edwards gave them (the words, signature on the double CD) a few days later – on my birthday December 8th 2008. I hereby confirm this statement – written in my own hand – to be the absolute truth and nothing but the truth’.

The flyer measures 29.7cm x 21cm (11.7 inches x 8.3 inches). There are horizontal and vertical crease lines, creases to the corners and a 0.7cm tear to the right edge. The condition is very good minus.
B46047 – John Lennon 1962 Astrid Kirchherr Attic Sessions Contact Sheet (Germany)
£1,200.00Add to basketThree separate pieces of a vintage sixties contact sheet containing nine black and white images of John Lennon. The photos were taken by Astrid Kirchherr in the attic of her parents’ home in Hamburg shortly after the death of Stuart Sutcliffe in 1962. They are printed on vintage Agfa photographic paper and there is a Steven Simon Press photography stamp across the reverse of each piece.
The photographic career of Astrid Kirchherr began when she started art school as a student at Meisterschule fur Mode, Werkschule fur Textil, Grafik und Werbung in 1957. Under the tutelage of photography teacher Reinhart Wolf Astrid expanded her photographic knowledge and skills. She was soon invited to be Wolf’s studio assistant.

Each piece of the contact sheet measures 6cm x 18cm (2.25 inches x 7inches). There are some cropping instructions on two of the images. Two pieces also have a hole punched along the top edge. The condition is very good plus.
B46046 – John Lennon & Yoko Ono 1970 Bag One Premiere Invitation & Holder John Peel Collection (UK)
£1,250.00Add to basketAn exceptionally rare invitation which was sent out by John and Yoko Ono Lennon for the private viewing of the world premiere of the Bag One exhibition. The event took place at the London Arts Gallery, 22 New Bond Street, London on the 14th January 1970. The invitation is housed in the original gatefold glossy card holder that has Bag One printed on the front. The Bag One portfolio was published as a limited edition of 300 each containing 15 lithographs and was sold for £550, individual lithographs were sold for £40. Each was hand signed by John Lennon in pencil. Just one day after the exhibition opened it was raided by police and they seized the lithographs. The gallery’s owner Eugene Shuster was charged with ‘Corrupting Morals’ for displaying the works. After a court appearance the charges were dropped and the lithographs were returned to the gallery.
Provenance: the items come from the estate of John Peel the former BBC disc jockey.
The invitation and holder measure 21cm x 14.6cm (8.2 inches x 5.75 inches). The condition is mint.
B46045 – John Lennon & Yoko Ono 1971 Watertalk/This Is Not Here Exhibition Invitation New York (USA)
£600.00Add to basketAn original invitation for Yoko Ono’s Watertalk/This Is Not Here exhibition. It ran from October 9 (John Lennon’s 31st birthday) to October 21, 1971 and featured works by Yoko, John and several of their friends. Yoko explained the origins of the exhibition’s title:
“I had a room in London, and the first room was extremely small, and there was this huge, huge some kind of closet – not exactly a closet but this huge thing was right in the middle of it and you couldn’t move it because it was so heavy. So I just put (a note on it saying) “This Is Not Here”. And then I thought “Wow, this is great… That’s how the instructions developed.”
The invitation lists John Lennon as a guest artist. The right hand side of the invitation is printed with text in the shape of a bottle which requests the invitee to participate in helping Yoko produce a water sculpture. The left side features a poem written by Yoko in 1967.
When open the invitation measures 28cm x 21.5cm (11 inches x 8.5 inches). The condition is very good plus.

It details various events including The Beatles recording ‘Love Me Do’, a TV appearance on People & Places, The Beatles Little Richard Tower Ballroom concerts together with various other pieces of information. Page two contains an itinerary of the group’s appearances between 20th October 1962 and 1st December 1962.
The newsletter measures 20.5cm x 33cm (8 inches x 13 inches). The top right corner of the first page is missing and there is wear and tear to the top edge. The reverse of page two has some glue and paper residue. The condition is very good minus.

There are rust stains where the lyrics were previously paper clipped together. The condition is very good.
