L+R concerts in Germany were promoted by Horst Lippmann and Fritz Rau, who established the German Bellaphon Jazz and Blues label L+R Records in 1979. The label was later sold to Bellaphon in 1986. In addition to the record label, Lippmann and Rau were also known as concert and tour promoters.
