An original 18 page running order and script for the 1963 Carl Alan awards that has been autographed by The Beatles in black ballpoint pen. George Harrison has added ‘(I.T.V)’ below his name. John Lennon’s autograph measures 17cm (6.7 inches). The ceremony took place at the Empire Ballroom, Leicester Square London on 23rd March 1964 when The Beatles received the award for ‘The Most Outstanding Beat Group of 1963’. The event was filmed by British Pathe news and can be viewed here The script comes with a letter from the previous owner that reads ‘I was given the Beatles autographs by my next door neighbour Bill Jones. We were living in Maitland House, Churchill Gardens, London SW1 at the time. Bill was a cameraman working for the BBC. He was filming at the Carl Alan Award Show on the evening the Beatles won the award they were nominated for. The autographs were kept unseen, in a drawer by my mother in law in her flat in Maitland House until her death in February 2013’. The script measures 20.25cm x 33cm (8 inches x 13 inches). The condition is very good.
