About this item
A complete set of Rolling Stones autographs on three pages which have been taken from an autograph book. Mick Jagger has added the dedication ‘To Jill’ above his autograph. Charlie Watts has added ‘the Rolling Stones’ next to his name. The signatures were obtained on 7th July 1968 in Swarkestone, Derbyshire at the Rolling Stones photo shoot for Beggars Banquet. The autographs come with a letter from the original recipient that reads, “The year was 1968 in Swarkestone, Derbyshire. The view from my bedroom window over looked the fields to Swarkestone church, and to the left over a large field called ‘The Cuttle’ and an old building known as the Grandstand or Swarkestone Hall Pavilion. I was stuck inside on a sunny, summer’s day revising for my O’levels when the phone rang, it was our neighbour the farmer Bob Lucas from Swarkestone Old Farm asking me and my brother to come to meet the Stones (I thought he was joking). Sure enough, they were all there for a photo shoot for their ‘Beggars Banquet’ LP. We walked down to the banks of the River Trent and it was here I was lucky enough to get all of their autographs”. Each page measures 11.5cm x 9.75cm (4.5 inches x 3.9 inches). Two of the pages have tape stains on. The condition overall is very good.
