About this item
A set of handwritten Beatles autographs in blue ballpoint pen on a large M.A.T Transport Limited delivery sheet. John Lennon has added the inscription ‘(a friend of the Railways)’ under his name. Each signature is well spaced and extremely clear. John’s signature is quite large, measuring 14.5cm (5.75 inches) across. The autographs were obtained between 2nd and 6th March 1964 whilst The Beatles were shooting train sequence scenes for their first ever feature film A Hard Day’s Night. The group would discretely board and disembark the train at Acton Main Line which is where the M.A.T. depot was located. The recipient of the autographs obtained them when The Beatles were walking around the depot to pass time. The sheet measures 30cm x 21.5cm (11.8 inches x 8.5 inches). It has been folded and laid flat. The condition is very good plus.
