About this item
Four pieces of paper that have been cut from a page of the Melody Maker newspaper which have been autographed by Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant has signed in blue ballpoint pen, Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones have signed in black felt tipped pen. The autographs were obtained at the Public Hall in Preston, England on 23rd November 1971. They are accompanied by a letter from the original recipient that reads ‘Letter of authentication for all four members of Led Zeppelin at Preston Public Hall 23rd Nov 1971 autographs. My friend and I had bought tickets to the gig but on many occasions we learnt that in order to hang out with our favourite bands, the best way to get access at the Public Hall was to wait outside the stage entrance at about 3pm onwards and when the crew turned up with the gear we offered to lend a hand and lump all the flight cases into the venue. In return we got to hang out with the roadies and eventually get back stage when the band arrived. At the time of the Led Zeppelin gig we got to meet the band several times and these autographs were written at the end of the gig on a page from Melody Maker’. Each piece of paper measures 11.5cm x 9.25cm (4.5 inches x 3.6 inches). There are tape stain showing through from the back. The condition is very good minus.
