About this item
An original 1966 single sided EMIDisc Beatles acetate with a Mercury Records label stuck over the EMIDisc label. The acetate contains the Beatles song ‘Good Day Sunshine’. The acetate was originally given to a member of a mod band called The Eyes when the group were asked if they would like to consider recording a cover version of it. The Eyes version of the single was released on Mercury records in August 1966. This would explain why the label on this EMIdisc is a Mercury records label. The record comes with a letter detailing how the acetate came into existence. The label has the group name ‘The Beatles’ and the song name ‘Good Day Sunshine’ handwritten in black pen. There are several light surface scratches over the vinyl. The condition of the acetate is very good minus.
