An original copy of the Mersey Beat newspaper volume 1 number 3, dated August 3rd to 17th 1961. Page 1 features a Cavern Club advert that mentions The Beatles performance at the Cavern that took place on 5th August 1961. Page 3 features an advert for Aintree Institute, The Beatles appeared at the club on 12th August 1961. The Cavern, Casbah, Litherland Town Hall and St. John’s Hall, Tuebrook are all mentioned in the ‘Entertainments guide’, The Beatles appeared at all of these venues during the period. The Beatles and Ringo’s band ‘Rory Storm And The Hurricanes’ are mentioned in the ‘Mersey Roundabout’ article on page 5. The back cover features an article that mentions both The Beatles and the Cavern Club. It measures 24cm x 33cm (9.5 inches x 13 inches). There is some wear to the spine and a few small tears on the front cover. The condition is very good minus.
