B27729 – The Beatles 1968 Yellow Submarine Animation Drawing (UK)

An original hand drawn sketch from The Beatles 1968 animated film ‘Yellow Submarine’. It features a pencil drawing of a ‘blue meanie’ towards the lower right corner. As part of the production process the animation artist would draw these sketches under the guidance of the project’s director. The next stage would be that the cells used in the actual film would be created based on these pencil sketches. The sketch is drawn on three-hole punched paper and measures 40.5cm x 31.75cm (16 inches x 12.5 inches). There are three pieces of tape along the upper edge where it has been attached to another sheet of paper. The bottom edge of the paper has been torn off removing the punch holes. The condition is good plus.
