B30426 – The Beatles 1968 Apple Records Zapple Press Release (UK)
An original 1968 double-sided press release for the Apple Records subsidiary Zapple. The release gives some information about the intentions of the company and an interpretive review of the first, and only, two releases on Zapple – John Lennon & Yoko Ono’s ‘Unfinished Music No.2: Life With The Lions’ and George Harrison’s ‘Electronic Sound’. Zapple was intended as an outlet for the release of spoken word and avant-garde records and was only active from October 1968 until June 1969 when it was closed down by then-director of Apple, Allen Klein. The release is printed on Zapple letter-headed paper with the Apple Corps 3 Savile Row, London address printed across the bottom. It measures 21cm x 29.75cm (8.25 inches x 11.75 inches). The paper has been folded leaving horizontal crease lines. The condition is very good.
