B31713 – Johnny Guitar 1985 Handwritten Letter (UK)

£195.00

Three pages of lined paper on which Johnny Guitar has handwritten a letter to a fan. It is dated the 17th September 1985 and reads;

‘Dear John,

Many thanks for your letter, cassette, and programme, I was made up with the tape and will put the programme in my collection of memorabilia.

Bill Harry rang from London at the weekend an is still working (very slowly) on the book, it will take quite some time. One of the former Undertakers (Chris Huston) is visiting from America.

Not much happening on the Liverpool front, except that a musical about Rory is being considered by a Liverpool playwright (no one famous) I have to meet him next week to have a talk to him.

My apologies for being so slow to reply, I’ve enclosed some original Cavern handouts for you, they are not copies.

If you’re in Liverpool, give me a ring and I’ll try to arrange something.

My items in Sothebys raised £1100, OK, on poster at £80 reserve failed to sell it went up to £65 but no higher so it is being returned to me.

Anyway John that’s all for now, send me a photo if they turn out,

Keep on Rockin’

Johnny Guitar’.

Also included is the original mailing envelope. It measures 13.2cm x 17.8cm (5.2 inches x 7 inches). There is a crease line where the letter was previously folded. The condition is excellent.
