B32193 – Patricia Clapton (Eric Clapton’s Mother) 1960s Handwritten Cream Related Letter (UK)


A one page double sided letter in the hand of Eric Clapton’s mother Patricia Clapton. It was sent from Eric’s childhood home ‘1 The Green, Ripley, Surrey’ between 1966 and 1969 and reads ‘Dear Doreen, Thank you for your letter. I looked for you last night, but did not see you. It was so terribly crowded wasn’t it I met Georgio [sic] & lots of other people I know but it was like looking for a needle in a haystack to try & find anyone. I thought the Cream were fantastic I enjoyed Eric’s singing. Yes the L.P is great & its doing well in the charts. Thank you for the nice card you sent me do hope you enjoyed you’re holiday, we are going away this Saturday for a week, only going to Coombe [sic] Martin but hope this lovely weather lasts. Bye for now Mrs Clapton’. The letter measures 11.5cm x 17.75cm (4.5 inches x 7 inches). The condition is excellent.
