B32577 – New Order Technique 12 Inch White Label 1989 Test Pressing (UK)


An original UK test pressing of the 1989 New Order album entitled ‘Technique’. The test pressing is on a white label which features the handwritten catalogue number ‘FACT 275’ in pencil on side two. The matrix number on side one is ‘FACT – 275 ① ɑ^23378’. It also has the words ‘What Exactly Do You Mean Peter?’ etched into the run-out groove. The matrix number on side two is ‘FACT – 275 ① ɑ^23378X’. It also has the words ‘?Retep ,Naem Uoy Od Yltcaxe Tahw’ etched onto the run-out grove.

There are numerous light surfaces scratches on both sides of the record. The condition of the vinyl is otherwise very good. The vinyl comes in a plain white inner sleeve with the words ‘New Order Technique FACT275’ handwritten in black pen on the front.

The test pressing was originally from the archive of Joy Division/New Order manager Rob Gretton and was part of his personal collection. It was originally obtained from Rob’s partner Lesley Gilbert.
