Record Mirror was first published in 1954. Two years later it carried the first UK album chart. It was also the first UK music paper to feature colour front covers setting it apart from its competitors on the news stand. Record Mirror contained weekly charts, record reviews, interviews with and articles about the most popular and up and coming groups and artists of the day, black and white and coloured photographs. On the 11th September 1982 issue the format changed from a newspaper to a glossy cover magazine.
The magazine format of Record Mirror normally contained around 40 pages. The magazine issues measure 23.8cm x 30cm (9.3 inches x 11.8 inches). All of the issues are laid flat. The condition is as follows: two thirds are very good plus and the remainder are excellent.
