B33454 – Otis Redding 1967 Ridglea Country Club Performance Contract (USA)

An original performance contract for the Otis Redding and the Bar-Kays performance at the Ridglea Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas on the 11^th November 1967, shortly before his death on the 10^th December 1967. The contract is a ‘contract blank’ from the American Federation of Musicians and ‘Sam Coplin Theatrical Enterprises’ is printed along the top. The contract is dated the 1^st September 1967 and has been signed by Otis Redding and Dick Moncrief at the bottom in black pen. Also included is a payment received slip, dated 29^th September 1967, which details a payment from Sam Coplin of $2,500 regarding the performance. The contract measures 21.5cm x 27.5cm (8.5 inches x 10.8 inches). There is some staining along the left hand edge and bottom right corner of the contract and to the top left corner of the payment slip. There is some tearing to the top left edge of both items where they have previously been stapled. The condition is very good.
