An original programme for the 1981 Glastonbury Festival which took place between the 19th and 21st June. The 6-page programme contains various information about the festival along with details of films, theatre and music to be played throughout the festival. Ginger Baker is listed to perform on the 19th with John Cooper Clarke, New Order and Hawkwind playing on the 20th. This was New Order’s first festival performance since the group reformed due to Ian Curtis’ death in May 1980. It was this year that the name was changed from Glastonbury Fayre to Glastonbury Festival and was the first Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament festival. This was also the year the iconic pyramid stage was built as a permanent structure.
The programme measures 21.2cm x 29.7cm (8.2 inches x 11.7 inches). It has previously been folded leaving various creases to which there is some wear. There is a small 0.4cm tear to the right edge of the front cover. The condition is very good minus.
