B34770 – Genesis Publications Golden Dreams Limited Edition Book (UK)

‘Golden Dreams’ is a photographic journey accompanying The Beatles during the filming of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ in Liverpool in 1964. The limited edition book presents Astrid Kirchherr and Max Scheler’s unpublished pictures of The Beatles, the Liverpool music scene’s early-60s explosion, and the phenomenon of the Merseybeat. Astrid’s lens focuses on them in private as well as public moments during filming, and her documentary portraits of Liverpool at this time depict the passion and poverty of its people. The book is printed on archival art paper and bound in black cloth with gilt tooling, and a choice of image inset onto front cover. The book comes in a red cloth-covered slipcase, silk-screen printed with gilt tooling. This is No. 450 of 2,500 limited edition copies, each hand-signed by Astrid Kirchherr and Max Scheler. This particular copy features the group image on the front cover of the book. The condition of the slipcase and book is excellent.
