A virtually complete run of Record Mirror music papers from 1970 to 1979. There are 517 issues in total. Two issues are missing, 1^st July 1972 and 31^st December 1972.

1970 – Complete year – There are 52 issues in total and the run begins on the 3^rd January and ends on the 26^th December.

1971 – Complete year – There are 52 issues in total and the run begins on the 2^nd January and ends on the 25^th December.

1972 – Incomplete year – There are 50 issues in total. The first issue is for the 1^st January 1972 and the last is for the 23^rd December. The following issues are missing: 1^st July and 31^st December.

1973 – Complete year – There are 52 issues in total and the run begins on the 6^th January and ends on the 29^th December.

1974 – Complete year – There are 52 issues in total and the run begins on the 5^th January and ends on the 28^th December.

1975 – Complete year – There are 52 issues in total and the run begins on the 4^th January 1975 and ends on the 27^th December.

1976 – Complete year – There are 52 issues in total and the run begins on the 3^rd January and ends on the 25^th December.

1977 – Complete year – There are 53 issues in total and the run begins on the 1^st January and ends on the 31^st December.

1978 – Complete year – There are 52 issues in total and the run begins on the 7^th January and ends on the 30^th December.

1979 – Complete year – There are 52 issues in total and the run begins on the 6^th January and ends on the 29^th December.

Record Mirror was first published in 1954. Two years later it carried the first UK album chart. It was also the first UK music paper to feature colour front covers setting it apart from its competitors on the news stand. Record Mirror contained weekly charts, record reviews, interviews with and articles about the most popular and up and coming groups and artists of the day, black and white and coloured photographs.

Record Mirror normally contained around 16 pages. The issues measure 29cm x 40.5cm (11.5 inches x 16 inches). All of the issues are laid flat. The condition is as follows:

1970 – 10% of the issues are very good plus and the remainder are excellent.

1971 – 20 issues are very good plus and the remainder are excellent.

1972 – a quarter of the issues are very good and the remainder are very good plus.

1973 – half of the issues are very good and the remainder are very good plus.

1974 – half of the issues are very good and the remainder are very good plus.

1975 – 2 issues are good condition, of the remainder, half are very good and half are very good plus.

1976 – 2 issues are good and the remainder are very good.

1977 – half of the issues are very good and half are very good plus.

1978 – half of the issues are very good and the other half are very good plus.

1979 – half of the issues are very good and the other half are very good plus.
