B37097 – The Beatles Fan Club 1960s/1970s Collection (UK)

A large collection of original material from The Official Beatles Fan Club. It consists of the following:

A pack of material that would have been typically given to a member upon joining the Fan Club. It consists of: an early Beatles Fan Club card containing Bobby Brown’s address, a membership card for 1965/1966, a publicity photocard bearing an image taken by Dezo Hoffmann, 3 different formats of the enrolment letter, 3 different formats of the ‘Welcome To The Fan Club’ letter, a ‘sincere apology letter, 2 different formats of The Beatles Career Highlights information sheets, a black and white photograph with facsimile signatures, individual biography sheets for John, Paul, George and Ringo, a biography sheet for The Beatles and a list of area Fan Club secretaries.

Three different promotional merchandising sheets. One advertises the first issue of The Beatles Monthly Book. The second advertises the sale of The Beatles sweater and badge by the Fan Club. The third advertises the sale of The Beatles NEMpix photographs.

Various Fan Club stationery and subscription forms. It consists of: a sheet of Beatles Fan Club letterhead, a white envelope bearing the Fan Club address (which has writing on the reverse), 2 subscription envelopes bearing different addresses, four different subscription renewal notices for May 1965 to April 1966, May 1966 to April 1967, May 1967 to April 1968 (which comes with the original envelope) and May 1969 to April 1970.

A collection of the bi-annual newsletters from the Fan Club. It consists of the following: June 1963 (an application form has been cut from the 2nd page), Summer 1964 (booklet format), Christmas 1964, Summer 1965 (booklet format with original envelope), Christmas 1965, Summer 1966 (with replica Shea Stadium concert ticket), Christmas 1966, Summer 1967, Christmas 1967, Summer 1968 and the newsletter from January 1970 apologising for the delay in sending out the 1969 Christmas flexi disc.
A collection of 4 promotional photocards sent out by the Fan Club over the years 1963 to 1969.

A letter from the Sunday Times advertising The Beatles biography by Hunter Davies and a flyer that was included it the release of the Lady Madonna single which advertises the Club’s free colour poster offer.

Five different Beatles Superpix sales leaflets (one has a punched hole in the top left corner).

A collection of 7 different double-sided newsletters sent out by the Fan Club during 1970 and 1971. Three of the newsletters were accompanied by 8” x 10” photographs (one of George, one of Ringo and one of John and Yoko).

Paul’s letter withdrawing from the Fan Club and the final Beatles Fan Club newsletter sent out by Freda Kelly.

The largest items measure 20.3cm x 32.8cm (8 inches x 13 inches). Most of the items are very good to very good plus condition. Approximately 10 items are very good minus and several are excellent.
