B37399 – Genesis Publications Liverpool Days / Golden Dreams Book Box Set (UK)

In 1964 Astrid Kirchherr and Max Scheler travelled from Hamburg to London to photograph The Beatles. Astrid already knew The Beatles well and had photographed them when they had lived and worked, honing their craft, in the Hamburg clubs. This new assignment for Astrid and Max involved shooting The Beatles on the set of A Hard Day’s Night and in their London homes. From there the pair travelled to Liverpool to photograph The Beatles’ haunts, other Liverpool groups and to record lunchtime sessions at The Cavern Club and the phenomenon of the Merseybeat. The result is an amazing archive of photographs. The books are printed on 200gsm matt art paper and bound in full canvas in individual canvas slipcases. They are housed together in a joint white slipcase. This set includes No. 937 of ‘Liverpool Days’ and No. 937 of ‘Golden Dreams’, each limited to 2,500 copies which have been hand-signed by Astrid Kirchherr and Max Scheler. There are some slight marks to the slipcase of the box set, the condition is very good plus. The condition of the Liverpool Days slipcase and book is excellent. The gold foiling on the ‘Golden Dreams’ slipcase hasn’t taken to the bottom portion of some of the letters, otherwise the condition of the slipcase and book is excellent.
