B38650 – The Undertones Promotional T-Shirt John Peel Collection (UK)

An original green t-shirt for The Undertones. It is printed with the band name in yellow. The t-shirt comes from the estate of former BBC DJ, John Peel. ‘Teenage Kicks’ by the group was John’s favourite song after first hearing it in 1978. In a 2001 interview with The Guardian newspaper, John stated that he would like the lyrics ‘teenage dreams so hard to beat’ engraved on his gravestone.

The t-shirt is a size large and measures 43cm (17 inches) and 68.5cm (27 inches). There are several sections of discolouration, one to the neck, under the ‘U’, at the bottom edge and along the bottom on the back. There are no signs of wear, the condition is very good.
