A flight menu for a BOAC flight to Hong Kong dated the 8th June 1964. It features an advertisement inside for the Miss Universe pageant that took place at the President Hotel, Hong Kong. The Beatles arrived at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak airport on 8th June 1964 with more than 1000 fans waiting for them. The group were allowed to bypass customs and immigration procedures and quickly rushed to the President Hotel in Kowloon where they were booking to stay on the 15th floor. The group held a press conference in the hotel on the 8th and then retired to their rooms for rest after the long slight they had taken from Amsterdam. In the evening they has been scheduled to attend the Miss Universe pageant in the hotel’s convention hall but the group all turned down the invitation causing tears amongst the contestants. Eventually John Lennon was convinced to attend and made a speech on the stage. The following day on 9th June 1964 The Beatles performed two shows at the Princess Theatre, Hong Kong.
The menu measures 17.2cm x 24.75cm (6.75 inches x 9.7 inches). Some mottling to the back cover. The condition is otherwise very good plus.
