B40248 – Factory Records Festival Of The Tenth Summer 9th Event 1986 Concert Poster (UK)


An original framed poster for the music and art festival ‘Festival Of The Tenth Summer’ which was organised by Factory Records and took place between the 12th and 19th July 1986. Ten events took place throughout this period and this poster advertises the 9th and 2nd events.  The 9th was  a film and video event and took place at the Cornerhouse, Manchester and including showings of the Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense, Sex Pistols’ film The Great Rock ‘N’ Roll Swindle, Rudy Boy which featured The Clash performance at the Rock Against Racism concert, Born In Flames along with the European premieres of Pretty In Pink and the biopic Sid and Nancy.  The 3rd event was ‘Cummings Ten’ and which was an exhibition by photographer Kevin Cummings at the Cornerhouse.   The item was previously sold as Lot 260 at the Peter Hook Signature Collection sale at Omega Auctions on 2nd March 2019. It is accompanied by a large Peter Hook Signature Collection certificate of authenticity, a large print of the artwork for the Joy Division EP ‘An Ideal For Living’, both of which have been signed by Peter Hook, and an auction keepsake tag.

The frame measures 42.5cm x 60cm (16.75 inches x 23.75 inches).  The condition is very good plus.
