£200.00
A collection of three pencil drawings of a butterfly from The Beatles 1968 film ‘Yellow Submarine’. Each has a reference number written towards the bottom or top corner. These sheets would have been used as reference in the creation of the animation cels which were printed in gouache on celluloid sheets.
Each sheet measures 40.6cm x 31.7cm (16 inches x 12.5 inches). There is some creasing to the corners. The condition is very good.
Provenance: comes from the collection of Chris Impey, an artist who worked closely with Robert Freeman and The Beatles including the typography for both of John Lennon’s books.
