Norman ‘Hurricane’ Smith was an recording engineer. He worked on all the EMI Studios recordings of The Beatles until the summer of 1965when he was promoted to a producer. In 1971 using the pseudonym Hurricane he recorded his first single Don’t Let It Die which was a demo of a song he had written for John Lennon. He enjoyed success in 1972 with ‘Oh Babe What Would you Say’ reaching number 4 in the UK charts, however subsequent successful releases proved elusive.
