B41729 – The Beatles 1960 Original Kaiserkeller Hamburg Matchbox (Germany)


An original cardboard matchbox from the Kaiserkeller Club in Hamburg, Germany which dates to 1960, the period in which The Beatles played their residency at the club. Rory Storm and The Hurricanes were also regular performers at the club with Ringo Starr on the drums before he joined The Beatles. The matchbox is printed on the top with ‘Tanzpalast der Jugend’ (dance palace of the youth) along with the club owner’s (Bruno Koschmider) name and the venue address. There are no matches inside. It measures 5cm x 3.5cm (2 inches x 1.25 inches). The condition is very good.
