B41825 – The Smiths 1985 Autographed Meat Is Murder Album (UK)

A UK vinyl pressing of the 1985 Smiths album ‘Meat Is Murder’ that has been autographed on the front cover by the group. Morrisey, Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke have signed in black pen.  Johnny Marr has signed in blue ballpoint pen. The signatures date to around the album’s release date.

The album is accompanied by a letter from the previous owner that reads: ‘I ran a Record Shop called Phase One Records in Wrexham in the 1980’s. We used Probe Records in Liverpool as an Independent Music Supplier and Geoff Davies who ran that (legendary) establishment gave me the Smiths – Meat is Murder vinyl album, signed by all four of the original members, when I was moving on from the shop. Geoff knew the Smiths personally (and many up-and-coming bands and artists during that period) and he gave it to me because we had sold so many of their early independent records, through the arrangement with Probe’.

The condition is excellent.
