B42551 – International Times 1970-1975 Newspaper Collection (UK)

£120.00

A collection of 20 various newspaper issues of the International Times from the years 1970 – 1975.

International Times was an underground paper and was launched with an all-night rave at the London Roundhouse on the 15th October 1966. Due to legal threats from The Times newspaper, it was abbreviated to IT and with repeated court cases the ‘14 Hour Technicolor Dream’ concert was arranged at Alexandra Palace, London on the 29th April 1967 at which Pink Floyd, The Pretty Things and The Move performed. Despite constant police harassment of the UK underground press, IT magazine continued to grow to a circulation of 40,000 in late 1968/1969 until it stopped publishing in October 1973 when it was convicted for running contact ads for gay men.

Each paper measures 30.5cm x 45.7cm (12 inches x 18 inches). The condition of each issue ranges from good to excellent.
