B44364 – John Lennon 1975 Signed WFIL Letterhead Paper With Doodle (USA) – £ Price On Request

A piece of WFIL Success Story letterhead paper signed by John Lennon in blue ballpoint pen. John has added the inscription ‘To Bill with love’ above his name he has drawn a facial doodle and added the year below it. The autograph was obtained at the WFIL radio, Philadelphia Helping Hand Marathon charity fundraiser on 16th May 1975.
The signature is quite large measuring 12cm (4.9 inches) across. The letterhead measures 21.7cm x 28cm (8.5 inches x 11 inches). Some very light mottling in places. The condition is very good plus.
Provenance: accompanied by a letter from the previous owner that reads ‘The autograph of John Lennon was obtained when he visited the Philadelphia radio station WFIL in 1975. My sister, Patricia Boyles (air name Pat Ryan) was a part time DJ at the station which was my means of meeting John.’
