B44749 – Peter Green 1969 Handwritten Prose (UK)

£695.00

Three sheets of lined paper on which Peter Green, former guitarist with Fleetwood Mac, has handwritten notes in blue ink. The first two pages are dated the 12th March 1969.

In 1969, Green was still part of Fleetwood Mac and recorded his final album with the group ‘Then Play On’ before his departure in 1970. The single ‘Man of the World’ was released in 1969, the lyrics of which sparked worry in his bandmates as they noticed a change in his state of mind. In late March 1970 at a commune in Munich, Green’s drink was spiked with LSD, this incident is cited as a crucial point in Green’s mental decline and subsequent departure from Fleetwood Mac.

Provenance: sold as part of lot 31 in the Man of The World Bonhams sale held between the 16th and 28th June 2023.

The pages measure 12.7cm x 20.2cm (5 inches x 8 inches). The condition is very good.
