B45498 – Peter Hook Owned 1960s Hofner Semi Acoustic Guitar (UK)

A 1960s Hofner Semi Acoustic guitar that was formerly the property of the New Order bassist Peter Hook. Housed in hard case.
Provenance: Lot 20 Omega Auctions 8th October 2021 ‘The Peter Hook: New Order Collection’. Peter said about the guitar ‘This was sourced for me by a builder who did our kitchen in Didsbury, found it in a junkyard and thought he would weave it into the fabric of our new kitchen which he did to great effect. When we moved, I just couldn’t leave it, it felt wrong. Hofners were very popular in ’60s group culture. I did find it’s bass equivalent, which was exactly the same colour, in The Bass Centre when it was on Oxford Road, opposite the BBC, but at £600 I couldn’t afford it’.
