B45692 – The Beatles 1968 Yellow Submarine Apple Bonkers Animation Drawings (UK)

A collection of four pencil drawings of the Apple Bonkers from The Beatles 1968 film ‘Yellow Submarine’. Each has a reference number written towards the bottom right corner. These sheets would have been used as reference in the creation of the animation cels which were printed in gouache on celluloid sheets.

Provenance: from the collection of Chris Impey, an artist who worked closely with Robert Freeman and The Beatles including the typography for both of John Lennon’s books.

The drawings each measure 40.6cm x 31.7cm (16 inches x 12.5 inches). There are sections of staining, discolouration and creasing to some of the drawings. The condition is very good minus.
