An almost complete run of Melody Maker music papers from 1963 – 1967.

Melody Maker was a British weekly music paper, one of the world’s earliest music weeklies, founded in 1926. By the early 1970s Melody Maker was considered the most serious of the pop music weeklies, a music paper. Melody Maker covered all of the major trends of the seventies – glam rock, progressive rock, punk rock, reggae, post punk and it was the home of some fabulous reportage on the music scene in Britain and abroad.

This collection includes the following:

A complete run of Melody Maker music papers from 1963. There are 52 issues in total. The run begins on the 5^th January and ends on the 28^th December. The issues measure 33cm x 45cm (13 inches x 17.1 inches). One of the issues is torn halfway up the spine of the front cover, the condition is good. One issue with a Beatles cover has a 4cm x 4cm tear on the front cover, the condition is good. One issue has a 5cm tear on the front cover, the condition is very good minus. Of the remainder, 9 issues are very good minus and 40 issues are very good.

A complete run of Melody Maker music papers from 1964. There are 52 issues in total. The first is from the 4^th January and the last is from the 26^th December. The issues measure 33cm x 45cm (13 inches x 17.1 inches). One issue has writing on the image on the front cover. Several issues have the owner’s name and/or address written on the front or back cover. The condition is as follows: 8 issues are good, 15 issues are very good minus and the remainder are very good.

A complete run of Melody Maker music papers from 1965. There are 51 issues in total. The first is from the 2^nd January and the last is from the 25^th December.  There is one missing issue dated 10^th July. The issues measure 33cm x 45cm (13 inches x 17.1 inches). A handful are very good minus and the remainder are very good.
