‘I collected my autographs in 1964 when I was aged 11-12 years old. My father and brother worked at the Gaumont in Bournemouth and I was lucky enough to be introduced to the stars by my family. I have 2 vivid recollections when meeting the Beatles; my father had arranged the visit with Paul but when he knocked on the door the person refused to let me in but Paul came over and I was allowed.
There was a man strumming the guitar so I went to ask for his autograph who then told me he was a guitar tuner!!! My idol at that time was Cliff Richard so when I met him I was so dumbstruck to this day I do not know what he said!!
Following that, I was allowed to sit on top of a speaker at the side of the stage and the Shadows were making faces at me while they were performing! My father and brother always cleared the stage after the performance and there was many unusual things, including a box of chocolates with a note written inside saying Sorry Paul they got hungry on the train from London and ate some!!! Amongst some of the things I obtained were a guitar string of George Harrison and a signed photo addressed to me which unfortunately have been lost in the last 60 years’.
The page measures 11.5cm x 9.75cm (4.5 inches x 3.9 inches). The condition is very good plus.
