B46314 – Genesis Publications Psychedelic Renegades Collector’s Edition Book (UK)
£500.00
Pink Floyd’s founder member, original frontman and primary songwriter, Syd Barrett met photographer Mick Rock in Cambridge in the mid-sixties. Their friendship flourished and the subsequently lived and worked together producing iconic portraits for which the pair will forever be associated. Psychedelic Renegades contains these photographs of the legendary music icon taken by Rock amongst others which have never seen before. Rock’s memories, along with recollections from artist and Barrett’s close friend, Duggie Fields, illuminate the work. Until this book was produced many of the portraits and observational images remained unprinted from Rock’s own negative archive. The book is quarter bound in orange leather and turquoise binding cloth blocked with gold lettering. It is housed in a slipcase screen printed with images of Syd printed on the front and back. To commemorate the end of this seminal edition, a specially created fine art print was produced. It shows a portrait which was shot to accompany an article Rock wrote for Rolling Stone in 1971, taken in the basement of Barrett’s mothers home in Cambridge.
This is No. 735 of 630 limited edition collector’s copies, each hand signed by Mick Rock.
