B49748 – Noel Gallagher 1999 Owned Suitcases (UK)

A pair of black and grey Samsonite hard-shell suitcases previously owned by Noel Gallagher and used for touring in 1999. The black case was used by his wife Meg Matthews and the grey case was used by Noel Gallagher. There is an address label handwritten by Noel Gallagher on the side of the grey case reading ‘Noel Gallagher, C/O Ignition Management, Wyndham Place, London, W1’.
Provenance: accompanied by a letter from the owner which reads:
‘I was donated the two suitcases illustrated below for my charity THE SUNSHINE LADIES WHO CARE by my brother’s friend Stanley Mathews. He is the father of Meg Mathews who married Noel Gallagher. Meg agreed to let me sell them for my charity.’
Also included is a copy of an email sent by Meg which reads:
‘ To Whom it may concern I am writing to say these two suitcases once belonged to Meg Mathews the black on and the Grey suitcase Noel Gallagher back to 1999 used for touring the grey one the label is Noel Gallagher hand writing
I authenticate these items as belonging to Meg Mathews and Noel Gallagher – Meg’
The black case measures 72cm x 67cm x 25cm (28.3 inches x 26.3 inches x 9.8 inches). The grey case measures 71cm x 63cm x 25cm (27.9 inches x 24.6 inches x 9.8 inches). Both the cases appear well used and have scratches and marks across the surfaces, various stickers and wear to the wheels. The condition is very good minus.
