HEN0165 – Jimi Hendrix Experience 1967 Marquee Club London Debut Handbill (UK)
An original handbill for the debut performance of the Jimi Hendrix Experience at the Marquee Club, London, England on 24th January 1967. The group were not originally scheduled to perform on the evening, but they replaced the Spencer Davis Group. News travelled fast around London by word of mouth that the guitarist would be performing at the venue and he and the rest of the band stepped out on to the stage in front of a sell-out 1400 crowd. It is reported that many famous names were in the audience including members of The Beatles, the Stones, the Who, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and many more. The handbill measures 21.5cm x 28cm (8.5 inches x 11 inches). It has been folded and laid flat, there is some wear on the folds and the edges. The condition is very good minus.
