About this item
An original 7 inch single-sided Emidisc acetate of the Rolling Stones 1965 song ‘Sittin’ On A Fence’. The disc bears a white Emidisc label with the artist, title and running time of 2.55 handwritten across the middle in blue ink. The song was recorded in December 1965 but was never released as a single. It was released in the USA in 1967 on the album ‘Flowers’ and in the UK in 1969 on the greatest hits album ‘Through The Past, Darkly’. The acetate was formerly the property of Rolling Stones Fan Club secretary Shirley Arnold who was given the disc by Keith Richards in the 1960s during the period she was working for the group. It is accompanied by a handwritten letter from Shirley which reads, “Were given to me by Keith Richards in the 60’s when I was working for the band. Sittin’ on a fence – was on the US album Flowers released in 1967”. The acetate comes in a plain white paper sleeve. The condition is very good minus.
