    Unfolded, the poster measures 28cm x 43.5cm (11 inches x 17 inches). It has been folded into three. The part that has been signed when folded measures 28cm x 14.5cm (11 inches x 5.75 inches). The condition is very good.

    Two large pages from an autograph book that have been signed by Geordie featuring AC/DC’s Brian Johnson. One signature is back-to-back on the same page. The signatures were obtained on the 6th January 1975 in Copenhagen, Demark.

    Provenance: comes with a copy of the letter from the original recipient that reads: ‘My friends and I found out where all the famous foreign bands and artists lived (The Plaza Hotel) when they played in Copenhagen and we sometimes waited for hours to get an autograph and a picture. Some of the bands also started coming to Copenhagen’s most popular disco at the time, Daddy’s Dance Hall, where my friends and I worked. Here we also met many artists and got autographs, tickets and backstage passes’.

    The pages measure 22cm x 14cm (8.6 inches x 5.5 inches). The condition is very good plus.

    A pair of single sided 10 inch acetates containing the b-sides to the 7 inch and 10 inch single versions of the Jesus and Mary Chain single entitled “Almost Gold”.  The discs are both on The Town House recording label with handwritten tracklistings and song durations as well as the band name.  The first disc contains the track entitled ‘Teenage Lust’.  The second disc contains the tracks ‘Catchfire’, ‘Blues From A Gun’ and ‘Head On’.

    Provenance: the items were originally part of Geoff Travis’ Rough Trade archive and comes complete with our COA stating this.

    The condition of the labels is mint. There is some very light surface marks on both discs. The condition of the acetates is excellent.

    An original black velvet covered NEMS presentation folder. The two ring binder has the initials ‘CJE’ embossed on the lower right corner which are the initials of Brian Epstein’s brother, Clive. The folder comes from the estate of Clive Epstein. The NEMS logo and the year ‘1969’ are embossed in gold on the front and spine. The folder contains the following 1968 singles, housed in plastic wallets, from artists who were signed to the NEMS record label:

    The condition of the records ranges from good to very good. On some of the records there has been a reaction resulting in a loss of the gloss on the vinyl.

    A single sided acetate for ‘It’s Never To Late To Forgive’. The acetate is on the Pye Recording Studios Custom Disc Cutting Service blank label with the following handwritten onto it. ‘Meek. It’s Never To Late To Forgive. 14/3/66 OASS 168A. Riot Squad’. There are several large surface scratches. The condition is very good minus. It comes in a purple and white Pye paper sleeve. There is some writing on one side. The condition of the sleeve is very good.

    A double sided Advance Promotion Copy of the single ‘Gotta Be A First Time’ c/w ‘Bitter Sweet Love’. The record is on the yellow and black Pye label with the catalogue number 7N 17237. There are some light surface marks on both sides and a couple of heavier scratched on side two. The condition is very good. It comes in a blue Pye Records sleeve. The condition of the sleeve is very good.

    A double sided Advance Promotion Copy of the single ‘Cry Cry Cry’ c/w ‘How It Is Done’. The record is on the white and black Pye label with the catalogue number 7N 17041. The condition is very good plus. It comes in a red and white Pye sleeve. The condition of the sleeve is very good.

    The lot also comes with a four sided piece of Denmark Productions sheet music for the song ‘Anytime’ as written by Larry Page and performed by The Riot Squad. The sheet music measures 21cm x 28cm (8.25 inches x 11 inches). The condition is very good plus.

The show was originally aired the week of October 26th – 27th 1991 and features numerous tracks including Don’t Want You, Blue Sky, Gamblers Roll, One Way Out, Loaded Dice and more. The LPs come boxed in a ‘Lite Beer Superstar Concert series with the original cue sheet.

    The condition of the vinyl is excellent to near mint. There is some tape staining and a split to one of the corner on the lid of the box otherwise the condition is very good plus. The condition of the cue sheet is very good.

The catalogue was sent out to club promoters etc in order to help run a successful function and lists various Star Appearances, Dance Bands, Jazz Bands and Pop Bands that were available to book for various different events. The catalogue lists hundreds of star acts that were available including The Who, The Yardbirds, The Cream, The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Animals, Tom Jones, The Fourmost, The Move and many more. The Troggs have been circled in a blue pen and there is a ‘x’ above them.

    The catalogue measures 21cm x 28.5cm (8.25 inches x 11.25 inches). The condition is excellent.

    A collection of Van Halen merchandising order forms and promotional flyers. It consists of the following items:

    A set of 6 photocopies from a promotional flyer which entitles the user to $1 off the 1978 Van Halen self-titled album at selected record stores. Two are printed on blue paper, the remainder on white.

    Each photocopy measures 20.5cm x 12.75cm (8 inches x 5 inches). There are several tears and creases to the flyers. The condition is very good minus.

    An original Warner Brothers 1979 4-page merchandising booklet which contains various ideas to use the merchandising tools for the 1979 Van Halen II album.

    The booklet measures 21.75cm x 28.25cm (8.5 inches x 11 inches). The condition is very good.

    A collection of 4 1980 order forms for two sheet music books for the 1980 ‘Women and Children First’ album and Van Halen I & II.

    Each order form measures 23cm x 30.5cm (9 inches x 12 inches). There is a 0.5cm tear to the left hand edge of one of the forms. The condition is very good.

    A set of 2 1984 Van Halen Fan Club merchandise order forms. Each feature several quotes from the group on the cover. Inside are various images of the various merchandise and a price list. An order form is printed on the reverse.

    Each order form measures 21cm x 41.5cm (8.25 inches x 16.25 inches). There is an 11cm (4.5 inches) tear to the crease line on one of the forms. Both have been folded leaving horizontal crease lines. The condition overall is very good.

    An original McKiernan Agency contract relating to a performance by Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders which took place at the Cavern Club, Liverpool on 21st August 1963. The yellow one-page contract was drawn up between the group and Ray McFall and is dated 11th July 1963. It has been signed at the bottom by Wayne Fontana in blue ballpoint pen.

    Provenance: the item comes from the collection of Bob Wooler, former Cavern DJ.

    The contract measures 21cm x 33cm (8.25 inches x 13 inches). There are two punch holes down the left edge and several staple holes in the upper left corner. The contract has been folded leaving horizontal crease lines. The condition is very good.

    An original framed RIAA sales award commemorating the sale of more than seven million copies of the Aerosmith album entitled ‘Get A Grip.  The award contains the album cover artwork repeated 7 times, each with a plaque saying 1 million, 2 million etc underneath.  There is also a plaque which reads:

    The award was presented to the A&R executive, John Kalodner, by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). John Kalodner began his career as a photographer and writer at Concert magazine and subsequently a photographer for various record labels. In the 1970s, he signed Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins to Atlantic Records and in 1980, Kalodner was headhunted to become the first A&R executive at the upcoming label, Geffen Records, where he worked with a number of artists including Aerosmith and Jimmy Page. In the 1990s, Kalodner moved over to Columbia Records where he again worked with Aerosmith along with Cher amongst others.

    The award measures 33cm x 43cm (13 inches x 17 inches. The condition is excellent.

    A collection of New Musical Express (NME) music papers from 1953. There are 50 issues in total. The run begins on the 9th January and ends on the 25th December. The following issues are missing: 2nd January and 22nd May.
    New Musical Express was one of the most authoritative UK music papers of the sixties. It contained interviews with, and features about, all of the important artists and bands of the sixties plus news, record and concert reviews and great pictures.
    The paper normally consisted of 12 pages. It measures 33.5cm x 41cm (13 inches x 16 inches). The condition is as follows: 2 issues are fair, 15 are good, of the remainder half are very good minus and half are very good.

There is also patch on the upper edge where the colour has torn off, probably caused by a piece of tape being removed. The condition is very good.

    An original 1968 Beatles ‘Yellow Submarine’ photo album. The album was manufactured by A & M Leatherline, USA in 1968 for King Features/Subafilms Ltd. The cream coloured album features an illustration of ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ from the ‘Yellow Submarine’ film. Inside is mounted with green paper and it has a three-ring lever arch to store photograph sleeves.

    The album measures 19.5cm x 25cm x 4cm (7.75 inches x 9.75 inches x 1.5 inches). There is some rusting to the levers and the rings have left indentations to the inside of the album. There is some ink staining on the inside and the lining paper has come away at the top around the spine. The condition is good plus.

    The handbill measures 36cm x 22.75cm (14 inches x 9 inches). There is several crease lines where the flyer has been folded and a 1.5cm tear to the left hand edge. The condition is very good minus.

    Provenance: the postcards come from the archive of Rough Trade founder, Geoff Travis. Previously a drama teacher, Geoff opened the first Rough Trade record shop in London on the 23rd February 1976 and founded the record label of the same name two years later in 1978.

    The postcards measure 15.2cm x 10.2cm (6 inches x 4 inches). There is some slight wear to the corner of a few postcards. The condition ranges between very good plus and excellent.

Also included are three postcards bearing postmarks from 1964, 1966 and 1969.

    The largest letter measures 21cm x 29.8cm (8.2 inches x 11.2 inches). There is creasing and wear to most of the letters. Two holes have been punched at the top edge of each letter and postcard. The condition overall is very good.

    A double CD of the 1970 Cat Stevens album ‘Tea For Tillerman’ that has been autographed on the gatefold by Cat Stevens in black ballpoint pen. Cat has added the inscription ‘To Jason with peace and eternal hope’ above his name. It comes with a letter from the original recipient that reads:

    ‘Cat Stevens, like myself is half Greek. In Sept 2008 I became perilously ill with an extreme form of the autoimmune disease Lupus. He was told this by Mr Alan Edwards the CEO and chairman of his PR agency “The Outside Organisation”. In his home in London he immediately signed these words – very moving and touching words – and Mr Edwards gave them (the words, signature on the double CD) a few days later – on my birthday December 8th 2008. I hereby confirm this statement – written in my own hand – to be the absolute truth and nothing but the truth’.

    A rare one page letter in the hand of the Free drummer Simon Kirke in black ink which was sent to Doreen Pettifer, the head of the John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers Fan Club in 1967. The letter which is dated 15th September reads:

    ‘Dear Doreen, Having just found the address of the only fan-club worth joining I felt I had to write to ask to be enrolled as one of the disciples of ‘St John’. I found the address on the back of ‘Crusade’ (a truly superb L.P.) after having asked everywhere where I could join the Bluebreaker’s Fan Club – but no-one knew! I sincerely hope that all the magnificent work of John will not go in vain in the future for he has worked harder than anyone in Britain in pushing Blues to the fore and I feel sure that his name will go down in blues history amongst the present + past blues giants – where he so deservedly belongs. Long live the Blues. Yours sincerely Simon Kirke’.

    An invitation to an early performance by David Bowie’s first band, The Konrads which took place at Highcroft Hall Country Club in Crockenhill, Kent on 5th April 1963. The invitation has handwritten details of the event on the front in blue pen along with details of an upcoming ‘film show’ and ‘motor rally’ written at the bottom. The reverse bears the recipient’s name and address. Bowie was lead singer and played tenor saxophone in The Konrads until he left at the end of December 1963 and joined the King Bees.

    Provenance: the invitation is accompanied by a handwritten letter sent to David Bowie by an employee of the club offering him and his family honorary membership. The letter is dated 2nd April 1963 and also comments on David/The Konrad’s performance – “I think you are now putting over your playing & singing very much better than your first appearance here”.

    The invitation measures 14cm x 8.5cm (5.5 inches x 3.25 inches). There is some staining to the lower right corner. The condition is very good.

    The letter measures 12.5cm x 20.25cm (5 inches x 8 inches). The letter has been folded leaving two horizontal crease lines across the middle and there is some wear to the bottom edge. The condition is very good.

This was New Order’s first festival performance since the group reformed due to Ian Curtis’ death in May 1980. It was this year that the name was changed from Glastonbury Fayre to Glastonbury Festival and was the first Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament festival. This was also the year the iconic pyramid stage was built as a permanent structure.

The recording details have been handwritten in black pen on the label. The matrix number on side one is EMI 2494 A-1. The matrix number on side two is EMI 2494 B-1 The records comes in a plain white sleeve upon which John has added the group name ‘Queen’ in the upper left corner. The record comes from the collection of the British BBC radio disc jockey John Peel. The centre piece of the vinyl is missing. There are a couple of light surface marks on both sides of the vinyl. The condition is very good plus.

It is extremely rare for Morrissey to sign his Christian name Steven on anything.

    The birthday card measures 11.5cm x 17.25cm (4.5 inches x 6.75 inches). The condition is excellent.

    Provenance: the birthday card comes from the collection of Liz Taylor who was employed by The Smiths manager Joe Moss at the Crazy Face offices, Manchester. Liz also designed t-shirts and artwork for various early Smiths projects. It is accompanied with a photocopied letter from Liz Taylor.

    A piece of Marriott Hotels + Resorts letterhead paper that has been autographed by Graham Nash in black felt tipped pen. The signature dates to the 1990s. It comes directly from the private collection of Mac Holbert, who started in the Spring of 1971 as an assistant truck driver and gopher for the Crosby & Nash Tour. In 1973 he became Graham Nash’s assistant and eventually tour manager. He also managed tours for Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Poco, America, Dwight Twilley, Peter, Paul and Mary, and Carole King. After his retirement from the road, Holbert continued his business relationship with Graham Nash, as well as his friendship with this legendary trio of musicians. This lot will include a certificate of authenticity, signed by Mac Holbert.

    The original purchase document from Penfold Motors in Lee Green, Kent dated 19th October 1962 in the name of Konrads drummer David Hadfield. The van was purchased with money lent from backing singer Stella Patton’s father which was paid back by the band in five instalments.

    The document measures 24cm x 36.5cm (9.5 inches x 14.25 inches). There is a horizontal crease line across the middle and some wear and tear to the top and bottom edges. The staple holding the payment receipt to the reverse has caused some rust staining. The condition is good plus.

    A detailed service receipt from Tudor Garage in Bromley, Kent dated 19th April 1963 detailing work done on the vehicle.

    The mounts measure 23cm x 18cm (9.1 inches x 7.1 inches). The condition is very good plus.

    The largest contact sheet measures 20.3cm x 25.3cm (8 inches x 10 inches). The condition overall is very good.

    The contract measures 20.3cm x 32.8cm (8 inches x 13 inches). There are creases where the contract has previously been folded and some staining towards the bottom left corner. There are pin holes to the top left corner. The condition is very good.

    An original issue of The 1986 New Order 12 inch single entitled ‘State Of The Nation’. The single has been signed on the front of the inner sleeve by all four members of New Order. Peter Hook, Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert. Peter and Gillian have signed in black pen. Bernard and Stephen have signed in blue pen.

    There is some water damage over the right half of the inner sleeve. The condition is very good.

    The signed single was original sold as part of the Peter Hook: New Order Collection at Omega auctions in October 2021.

    The item was previously sold as part of lot 80 in the ‘Property of Bill Wyman and His Rolling Stones Archive’ with Julien’s Auctions sale between 11th and 13th September 2021 and is accompanied by a lot card and tag from the auction. All of the items in the sale were part of Bill Wyman’s renowned and vast archive.

    The contract measures 20.2cm x 25.3cm (8 inches x 1o inches). The contract has previously been folded leaving horizontal crease lines. Two holes have been punched along the left edge with tape stains to the top edge on the reverse. There is a small section missing to the top left corner. The condition is very good.

The item comes from the collection of ‘Skum’ punk fanzine creator and artist Mark Jay who was commissioned to create the poster which accompanied the group’s debut LP.

    The press pack measures 21.5cm x 30cm (8.5 inches x 11.75 inches). There is some wear to the spine of the press pack. The photographs have some light creasing in the corners. The condition is very good.
