B40287 – The Beatles 1965 San Francisco Autographs (USA) – Price On Request

Two adjoining pages that have been taken from a diary one of which has been autographed by The Beatles in blue ballpoint. The autographs were obtained by a Fire Marshall at San Francisco Airport on 1st September 1965 when they were returning to London after their second American tour. The day before, 31st August 1965, The Beatles performed two shows at Cow Palace, San Francisco, California, USA.

The autographs come with a letter from the grandson of the original recipient that reads:

‘My Grandfather, Jesse O Parks was the Fire Marshall at San Francisco International Airport during the Beatles concert in South San Francisco at the Cow Palace. One of my grandfather’s duties as a Fire Marshall was to greet dignitaries when they arrived and to escort them back to their plane upon departure. Their concert was at The Cow Palace on August 31, 1965. On September 1, 1965 Jesse O Parks escorted the Beatles back to their plane for departure. Prior to them getting on the plane, he made a request. He mentioned that he was unfamiliar with who they were, but was certain his granddaughter would know them. He asked them for their autographs. He took a page from his calendar book and asked them to autograph it for him. The page that they signed was September 1965’.

When open the pages measures 18cm x 15.8cm (7.1 inches x 6.2 inches). The condition is very good.
